Best things of the week
- Jungle Vines - Hanging Snakes - Jungle Birds - The Letters J & U - Learning to connect. This week was full of jungle fun. The 3s rooms were decorated with vines and balloons to simulate a rain-forest jungle canopy. The children played with jungle animal masks and imitated the sounds the animals make. They also made snakes out of paper plates that are now hanging throughout the three's rooms. The Bumblebees also made monkey door knob hooks to use in their bedrooms. This week the Bumblebees have been introduced to the concept of making connections while they are reading or listening to a story. They have been asked to connect with story content: Does the story remind them of something that happened to them? Can they empathize with something the characters in the stories are experiencing? This is also reinforcing the concept of being an active listener. Please try this at home with your Bumblebee. A great conversation is likely to be the outcome. Next week the Bumblebee's end their study of animals by being asked to pick their favorites and we will compare and contrast the favorites. They have studied arctic animals, jungle animals, and the animals they see in their backyards everyday. Ask your child for their favorite!
